Thursday 26th to Sunday 29th September 2019
Sunday at 18:15 - Brick Barn Stage
One of folk music’s greatest innovators, he is a ground-breaking acoustic and electric guitarist, ballad singer and an authoritative interpreter of newly composed material. He always prefers to follow an insatiable musical curiosity rather than cash in on his unrivalled position. Perhaps most significant of all though, are his settings of traditional songs with guitar, which have influenced a generation of artists, including Bob Dylan and Paul Simon, on both sides of the Atlantic. Having been recognised with the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2014 BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards, and described by Q Magazine as ‘arguably the greatest English folk song performer, writer, collector and editor of them all’, this is truly an opportunity not to be missed.
This was the incredible line-up that Chris drew together for Deepdale Festival 2019. The whole crew are immensely proud that we hosted Martin Carthy, Morganway, Gentlemen of Few, Man the Lifeboats and Kitty Macfarlane to name but a few, at what was only our 3rd annual festival.

As a pre cursor to the main festival, for those staying on Thursday night, we hosted The Lighters for an evening session in the Stables Courtyard, followed by a chilled Open Mic Night / Jam Session around the fire pits. Festival goers brought instruments, something to shake, hands to clap, a voice to sing and/or laughter.
