Covid-19 - Bookings Update

Due to the new government Covid-19 restrictions (announced 31st October), Deepdale Backpackers & Camping will be closed from Wednesday 4th November until Thursday 3rd December.  If restrictions are lifted at that point, we hope to re-open the office on Tuesday 1st December and then continue with our winter arrangements as laid out below.  We will update this message when the situation is clearer at the end of November.

The Campsite is open in a limited way for Pre-Booked Motorhomes (or Campervans) with their own toilet & washing facilities onboard ONLY.  Our shower & toilet blocks remain closed.  This arrangement will stay in place through Autumn & Winter until March 2021.  We will very sadly be unable to accept Tents or Campervans until the Deepdale Hygge in late March 2021, if circumstances allow us to run that event.  Please don't just turn up on spec, you won't be able to stay.

The Backpackers Hostel is open in a limited way, offering Room Only options, such as double, twin, quad & family ensuite rooms.  The kitchen and living room will be closed, as detailed in the government guidelines, likewise the BBQ area will not be available. So bookings through this Autumn & Winter will simply be for room only, with their own ensuite shower, toilet & sink.

The Groups Hostel is open for self catering for 1 or 2 households.  4 bedrooms sleeping 20 people in total, and under the government Covid-19 rules one or two households could share the facilities as long as they continue to social distance while doing so.  The building has its own kitchen, living room, dining area, and two sets of toilets, showers & sinks.

Deepdale Visitor Information Centre is open for enquiries about the local area.  Deepdale Bike Hire remains closed.

To check availability or to make a booking, please use our online booking enquiry form - www.deepdalebackpackers.co.uk/booking-form/

There communal living and dining room is ideal for meeting up after a day of activities on the North Norfolk Coast, with plenty of table space for playing games, cards, completing the project work from the day exploring or just for sitting around with a glass of something lovely.

The TV is Freesat.  The very fast Free Wifi and loads of information on the local area, will help you decide what to see and do during your stay.  And of course our visitor information centre is open every day, providing helpful and knowledgeable advice on walking routes, the local Coasthopper bus service, bike hire and lots more.

Where possible we have used green technologies to reduce our environmental impact.  100% of our electricity is generated from renewable sources; the hostel is accessible via public transport using train services to and from King's Lynn and the Coasthopper bus service, and we are currently investing in electric car-charging points.

Dogs in the Groups Hostel

Deepdale is dog friendly, in fact the whole area surrounding us does – you’d struggle to find a pub on the North Norfolk Coast that doesn’t welcome dogs (even muddy ones!). You can bring up to two dogs if you have booked the groups hostel and enjoy the company of your four legged friends all holiday, we simply ask that ...

  • No dogs allowed on beds / furniture
  • Dogs not to be left unattended in the Groups Hostels - for their comfort
  • Dogs are £5 per dog per night
  • For the comfort of other guests, please keep your dog under control and on a lead - we are a working farm
  • Please clean up behind your pets, wherever they mess (we stock bio-degradable dog waste bags in the Information Centre)
  • Ask at Deepdale Visitor Information Centre for dog walking information

Deepdale Café is located next door serving fantastic breakfasts, lunches and snacks throughout the day, using local producers and suppliers wherever possible.

Dalegate Market has a range of shops including a supermarket for groceries and provisions, permanent shops open throughout the year, and pop up shops that change weekly.

The village has two great pubs, The Jolly Sailors and The White Horse, both within walking distance and serving locally produced ales and home cooked food.

Situated in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, with one of Norfolk's Saxon round-tower churches, the village of Burnham Deepdale occupies a very special place on the North Norfolk Coast.  The saltmarshes are spectacular; the walking on the Norfolk Coast Path is wonderful; the big open skies are breathtaking (with our night skies truly awe inspiring!); it's great cycling and watersports country and the bird and wildlife in the area is wonderfully diverse.

If you have more than 20 people in your group, please talk to us about additional group accommodation options at Deepdale, which include private ensuite dorm rooms in our backpackers hostel, glamping with one of our partner companies, or camping with us in your own tent or campervan.

The groups hostel is open all year round, including Christmas and New Year, so whether in Winter or Summer, Spring or Autumn, heading to Deepdale with you group is a very memorable event.
