At last our travels bring us home
Cruising above the clouds with Walton's Spitfire Prelude and Fugue, we circle round the British Isles, taking in the Lochs and Glens of Scotland with McCunn and the choral heritage of Wales with Williams' Penillion. Williams sets us on our way East, returning to Norfolk with one of her former professors, Vaughan Williams. With his Norfolk Rhapsody, we nestle among the inhabitants of the Fisher Fleet of King's Lynn, who shared with Vaughan Williams many of their tales and songs, before focusing even closer to home - on the orchestra itself, with Benjamin Britten's Young Person's Guide.
We do hope you will join us for this, the finale of our Travels with Friends series of concerts and look forward to seeing you in June 2023, for our end of season Summer concert.
