Welcome to the celebrations for Her Majesty's Platinum Jubilee in Brancaster, Brancaster Staithe and Burnham Deepdale. We hope that you will join us in helping to mark this amazing weekend by joining in activities – all are welcome.

The event has been created by community groups throughout our parish and a huge thank you goes to all the volunteers who have worked so hard to make this weekend one to remember. Funding has been provided by Brancaster Parish Council.

All events are free and un-ticketed, except the ones marked, and are open to residents, holiday makers and day trippers. Please read the descriptions carefully for access and parking.

 

EVENTS IN DATE ORDER

Town Crier
Our own Richard Roberts will be proclaiming the celebrations open at Brancaster Village Hall and Brancaster Staithe and Deepdale Village Hall at 1pm and 1.10pm on Thursday 2nd June.

Deepdale Flower Celebration - “Decades in Flowers”
Come and wonder at the beautiful floral designs gracing the historic church at Burnham Deepdale. Wheelchair accessible, no toilets. Free event, all welcome. Open from Thursday June 2nd to Sunday June 5th.

Brancaster Women's Exhibition
will celebrate the contributions of women in Brancaster Parish and will document and honour women from a wide range of backgrounds. To be shown at Brancaster Village Hall throughout the weekend. Free event, all welcome.

Barrow Common Beacon Lighting
on the evening of Thursday June 2nd near the radar station – parking in adjacent field off the A148 – look for signs. Please wear walking shoes and wrap up. Drinks will be available. No toilets. Bagpiper at 9.09pm, beacon lighting at 9.15pm, followed by choir and community singing. Free event all welcome.

Brancaster Church
Friday June 3rd. Light refreshments with coffee and tea at followed by a double keyboard concert at noon to 12.30pm with Simon Bower and Matthew Preston. Wheelchair accessible with a toilet.

Deepdale & Brancaster Staithe Tennis Club & Brancaster Staithe & Deepdale Village Hall
will be hosting a fun day out for all the family on Friday 3rd June.
Tennis Fun Activities
for 4 -16 year-olds from 9.30am -12.30pm. All the family is welcome, and refreshments will be provided. American Style Tennis Tournament 2pm - 5pm for adults or capable young people. Max 8 pairs of players. If you would like to play, please apply to Verily Borthwick - DBSTennisClub@outlook.com by 6pm on Thurs 2nd.
Children's Art Competition
Create a portrait, picture, or work of art to represent HM the Queen. Three age groups. Each child's name and age to be attached. All entries to be delivered to Brancaster Staithe Village Hall between 3-5pm on Thursday 2nd June will be exhibited in the hall from 2pm on Friday 3rd June with results announced at 3pm.
Best Decorated Jubilee Bike Competition
Dress up your bike and bring it to Brancaster Staithe and Deepdale Village Hall for judging at 3pm on Friday 3rd June. Afternoon Teas at BSDVH from 3-5pm. Contributions of cake would be most welcome. BSDVH is wheelchair accessible and has toilet.

Brancaster Village Show at Brancaster Village Hall
will be held on Saturday June 4th and is wheelchair accessible and has toilets. Marquee opens from 10.30-12 for entries with parking on the field and competitions are open to everyone. Featuring a scarecrow competition, bake off and flower and crafts. Please drop off entry forms before show day to Brancaster Stores or the Fish Shed. Ideally all cakes and biscuits to be donated for tea and cakes afterwards:

L. Beach on a plate
For children 11-16:
M. Create an animal out of vegetables
N. Beach on a plate
The show will be followed by a tea and screenings of The Derby and Party from the Palace in the 71 Club at 6.00pm. Everyone is welcome.

Jubilee Treasure Hunt
will run on Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th June. Pick up your maps at Brancaster Village Stores.

Dale End Street Party
on Saturday June 4th 5.00pm – 9.00pm. Open to residents and friends to avoid overcrowding.

London Street Party
on Sunday June 5th 12 noon – 5.00pm with live band. Open to residents and friends to avoid overcrowding.

The White Horse Jubilee Tea
on Sunday June 5th from 12noon - 3pm is open to all with tickets at £30 being sold in advance and is wheelchair accessible and has toilets. www.whitehorsebrancaster.co.uk

The National Trust “Day at the Seaside” at Brancaster Beach
will be on Sunday 5th June from 1-5pm and is accessible by sand and toilets are available. Parking will be at the Beach Parking Lot and charges will apply. Kite flying, rounders, and a sandcastle building competition. All are welcome to this free event.
