Burnham Deepdale’s Dalegate Market shortlisted for national award
Dalegate Market in Burnham Deepdale has been shortlisted as a finalist in the prestigious national Countryside Alliance Awards.
Jason Borthwick, who set up Dalegate Market almost ten years ago with his father, Alister, is due to attend the awards ceremony at Westminster in April.
From across the UK, there are only 42 finalists across four categories. Dalegate Market joins nine other finalists in the Tourism Enterprise category. The judging process starts in the new year with visits from the panel.
Said Jason: “Being invited to Westminster is always an honour and we’re in excellent company with these other finalists. It’ll be a nervous wait until April.”
Dalegate Market has grown into a major North Norfolk coast hub and the site is home to shops and Deepdale Café, which are open throughout the year. Jason also organises the Deepdale Christmas Market, which hosted over 100 stalls and welcomed more than ten thousand visitors throughout the three days it was open in December.
