Deepdale Hygge | 24th to 26th March 2017

Programme - Deepdale Hygge

Friday 24th to Sunday 26th March 2017

This is the provisional programme for the first Deepdale Hygge.  We are still working on this programme, so it may change significantly and we'll add a lot more detail as we get closer to the event.

Friday

You are welcome anytime on Friday* and the Deepdale Spring Market will be on all day next door at Dalegate Market.

In the evening, enjoy Live Music and a bar on the Backpackers Stage in the brick barn at Deepdale Backpackers & Camping.

At 7.30pm, before the headlining band begins, there will a Story Telling around the fire pit.  Whatever age you are, you are most welcome to listen in and enjoy these stories.

The BBQs and fire pit will be lit, so you can cook yourself supper and warm yourself by the fire.  (Bring your own food to cook)

8pm - Sam Coe & The Long Shadows will be playing in the Brick Barn.  Bring your dancing shoes!

*Check-in may not be possible until after 2pm

Saturday

Activities begin at 10am, so plenty of time to sort your breakfast.  Those in the backpackers hostel have use of the kitchen, there's Deepdale Cafe next door which serves excellent breakfast, and Keshco supermarket has a good range of fresh bread, cereals and other breakfast items.

Activity Morning - Run, Walk, Cycle or just Relax.  The Deepdale Crew will be running a Guided Run, Guided Walk and Guided Cycle which you are welcome to join.  We'll also have plenty of suggestions for local routes if you would like to make your own way.  If none of that appeals and you'd prefer to read the papers or a book by the fire pit then that is also a lovely option.

Deepdale Spring Market will be open throughout the day, 10am to 5pm, next door at Dalegate Market.

Also throughout the day, we'll be hosting a number of local organisations on Ash Paddock (the campsite behind the information centre), who can help you develop your own North Norfolk Coast Hygge.

Lunch plans will depend on the activity you choose.  Most of the activities should get you back to Deepdale by about 1pm, but the cycle ride and walk will include time to enjoy lunch with great views at some point on their route.  If you are relaxing at Deepdale then Deepdale Cafe is open, those staying in the backpackers hostel will have use of the kitchen, the BBQs in the courtyard will be lit for anyone attending to cook on, and there are two good pubs in the village.

From 3pm there will be Live Music on the Backpackers Stage in the Brick Barn until late evening, with a bar, hot chocolate and food stall for you to buy from.

Afternoon bands include: Falling From Trees (Yes that is a band not an activity we are running over the weekend), Nobodaddy, Marina Florance, Matt Watson and the Georgia Shackleton Trio.

The BBQs and fire pit will be lit, so you are welcome to cook your own supper too.

At 7.30pm, before the headlining band begins, there will a Story Telling around the fire pit.  Whatever age you are, you are most welcome to listen in and enjoy these stories.

8pm - Little Red Kings are our headlining act.  In their words, their music combines a gritty, down-to-earth quality that evokes Kings Of Leon and Raconteurs with elements of pop that appeal to all ages.

If the skies are clear, and when the music has ended, then we encourage everyone to lie under the stars and do some Star Gazing with the incredible light show that is the North Norfolk Coast dark skies.

Sunday

Time to sort your breakfast.  Those in the backpackers hostel have use of the kitchen, there's Deepdale Cafe next door which serves excellent breakfast, and Keshco supermarket has a good range of fresh bread, cereals and other breakfast items.

At 10am, those staying at Deepdale Backpackers & Camping have an exclusive chance to walk the woods of Deepdale Farm, which aren't usually open to the public.  We invite you to join us for a Woodland Scavenger Hunt.

We thought a Group Lunch BBQ would be a great way to finish the weekend.  (Bring your own food to cook)
