Ethyl Smyth: The Wreckers Bruch: Violin Concerto No.1 soloist Madeleine Mitchell Rachmaninov: Symphony No.2 Ethel Smyth portrays bloodthirsty Cornishmen luring ships onto the rocks, and the doomed love affair between a fisherman and the preacher's young wife. We are then delighted to be joined by Madeliene Mitchell for Bruch's violin concerto, for good reason one of the most popular violin concertos in the solo violin repertoire. Then the beautiful melodies and lush orchestration of Rachmaninov's 2nd Symphony will set hearts racing. A concert you won't forget.
