Pizza on the lawn at 6pm, poetry at 7.30pm
Live at the Blakeney Harbour Room: two prizewinning poets Peter Wallis and Sally Festing present poems about the head, both in its physical and mental aspects. Sally and Peter enjoy rapport, and welcome discussion with an audience.
How does repeated brain surgery impact on families? What if the patient has an identical twin? The answers come, in Andrew McMillan's words, in poems that see “life as something tentative as well as tender”. Similarly, how can the effects of something like schizophrenia, bear on future generations? Sally reads about her father, who set up the Mental Health Foundation. This event is FREE to attend. Donations to the Mental Health Foundation are welcome and encouraged. Come along from 6PM for food and drink on the bowling green, or watch the livestream online. Due to Covid restrictions, this event will be socially distanced and therefore spaces to attend in-person are limited. Some spaces will be available on the night, but get yours now before they're gone! No prior booking needed to watch online.
