Wedding Dress Exhibition

Approximately 25 wedding dresses and 15 christening gowns will be on display in St Margaret's Church to the public for the first time in St Margaret's Church, Cley

The Friends of Cley Church thought it would be interesting to organise a wedding dress and christening gown exhibition to raise funds for St Margaret's Church. It is a theme which seemed appropriate for the church and the idea has been embraced by the local community. The dresses come in all shapes, sizes and styles, guaranteeing something of interest for everyone.

The dresses on display range from the 1880's to the present and are of traditional and contemporary style. Famous local author, Rafaella Barker, has lent her beautiful cream crocheted lace wedding dress – by Italian Designer Alberta Ferretti.

The Blunt Family have lent 2 wedding dresses, one of which was made by a friend who had only made dresses for the casino scene in James Bond's Golden Eye prior to be asked if she would make a wedding dress. The Blunt family have also lent their late Victoria family christening gown.

There is ample free parking in Church Meadow by the church, entry catalogues and teas and cake will be available to purchase in the church on both days. There will be live music in the church on both afternoons. Entry is free but we welcome donations to the church. We are hugely grateful to everyone who has donated a dress or gown and also to all those helping with the event.”

The Friends of Cley Church are dedicated to the restoration and maintenance of the beautiful, grade 1 listed St Margaret's Church which is in the heart of the village.
