The Great British Cycling Festival is coming to Norfolk this summer! 1st national champions' jerseys of the festival will be given out on June 27, fittingly on the Royal Sandringham Estate, as the king & queen of British time trialling are crowned.
The events will see riders set off one-by-one, each facing a gruelling individual battle to set the fastest possible time over the assigned course. The premise is simple – as riders begin to cross the line, their overall time for the whole course is taken into account, and the fastest time after all riders have crossed the line wins.
The men's jersey is currently held by Tour de France champion Geraint Thomas, who last year used this event as part of his preparations for his ultimately successful assault on the yellow jersey in July. The reigning women's champion is Hannah Barnes, and the calibre of riders will be just as high this year as riders look to add a national title to their palmares.
Price: Free to watch, find yourself a viewing point along the route
Location: Starting & finishing at Sandringham Estate, travelling through West Norfolk including a visit to the North Norfolk Coast
