The Norfolk Festival of Nature at Gresham's, a celebration of the county's unique countryside, returns to Holt on 16th – 18th June 2017 with a fantastic new line-up!

The opening event on Friday 16 June welcomes well-known television presenters and wildlife lovers Martin Hughes-Games (BBC's Springwatch) and Iolo Williams (BBC Wales) for an amusing and informative show. The ‘Wildlife Road Trip' will be packed with facts and fun for the whole family.

The weekend continues with a variety of free events including a nature trail for children from 7-12 years and photography and poetry ‘Wildlife in Nature' themed competitions. If you are looking for a unique Father's Day experience, don't miss the free Fens Falconry event on Sunday 18 June from 10.30am where you can get up close and personal with some of the most beautiful birds of prey.

Wildlife TV presenters Martin Hughes-Games and Iolo Williams have teamed up for an amusing and informative show packed with facts and fun for the whole family. Extremely wild about wildlife, these two brilliant and entertaining enthusiasts will take the audience on a funny and fascinating journey. The tales of their journeys continue to where they are today: well-known and passionate wildlife TV presenters working with the BBC to educate and inspire its audience to connect with and care for the natural world. Here the audience can take a look behind the scenes of wildlife TV presenting and some of the interesting things it entails.

Nature Trail

This activity is suitable for 7-12 year olds who should be accompanied by a parent/guardian.
Children (7-12) are invited to follow a nature trail around Gresham's School's beautiful woodlands where they can explore the great outdoors. There's a hotbed of nature for the children to discover, from fungi to some of the wild flowers and trees that have made Gresham's woodlands their home. Parents are welcome to purchase lunch from Gresham's new Britten Building from 11.45am-12.45pm

Storytelling in the Woods

Gresham's Sixth Form pupils share stories in the school's dramatic and enchanting wooded amphitheatre on the themes of Wildlife in Nature.

Field Sports - Destruction or Conservation?

Take part in a discussion on the eff ect of field sports on our local environment. Do you think that fi eld sports are a threat to the balance of nature? The speakers who will present an opinion and their insight include:

John Bailey - a Norfolk angler, presenter, author and EDP columnist.
Dr Roger Draycott - Head of Advisory Services for the Game & Wildlife Conservation Trust.
Simon Reinhold - Assistant Director for the British Association of Shooting and Conservation, Central England.

The talks will be followed by questions from the audience. Questions can be submitted ahead of this event by email to questions@greshams.com or send by post to Mr Paul Laidler, Gresham's School, Cromer Road, Holt NR25 6EA.

Father's Day Special - Fens Falconry

Make Father's Day special with a visit to Gresham's to get up close and personal with some of nature's best designed predators.
Handlers will provide an informative and entertaining talk and, weather permitting, a flying display in the grounds.
