Deepdale Podcast – Farm Chat, Glass Making with Driftwood Glass Studio, Walking on Sandringham Estate – May 2021

Thanks for listening to the May 2021 episode of the Deepdale Podcast, produced by the team of Deepdale Farm, Deepdale Camping & Rooms and Dalegate Market in Burnham Deepdale on the beautiful North Norfolk Coast.

The team are somewhat busy welcoming customers on the next stage or re-opening, so no Chris, Georgie or Simon this month. But Jason, Nathan, Rose and Andy present this months episode.

Farm Chat with Nathan & Jason

Been a busy month on Deepdale Farm, with the first of the monthly guided farm walks, putting in the BPS paperwork, continuing to work on the stewardship scheme (Nathan described the situation as ‘dangerously close to getting a proper agreement from the RPA’), and Jason & Nathan headed away from the farm to visit 3 amazing examples of organic farming with agroforestry (great brain food).

Tourism Chat with Jason

With the rest of the presenters setting up for the next stage of re-opening, Jason chats about the tourism side of Deepdale. Great to have the shower blocks back open on the campsite, and to have people staying in the lovely new private rooms. The team are immensely proud of being awarded the Travellers’ Choice Award by Tripadvisor for a 2nd year, and being voted in Top 3 campsites in the UK by Campertoo.

Glass art demonstration by Rose

Jason visits Rose in the Driftwood Glass Studio at Dalegate Market, where Rose and her husband Keiron sell beautiful glass art, and run courses for all ages to make their own glass pieces. Rose creates a piece, while Jason records and they chat about how Driftwood Glass came about, and explore the shop.

A favourite place – Sandringham Estate

Andy volunteers another favourite place, and this time its the Queen’s estate just down the road, Sandringham. A glimpse at another great place to visit, not far from Deepdale, with brand new facilities after huge investment. Which kid wouldn’t want to climb the castle and slide down from the high tower?

A round up of what’s on at Deepdale

Events are beginning to be added to the diary, so Jason has a quick run through of some of the events coming up very soon. There’s the Guided Farm Walks at Deepdale Farm, Open Farm Sunday, open air theatre by the Pantaloons, exhibitions, workshops, street food and much more. You can take a look at the event calendar on the Deepdale website – deepdalecamping.co.uk/events/
